Date: 2014 18Impact: 500 million customersDetails: Marriott International announced in November 2018 that attackers had stolen data on about 500 million customers. The breach at first happened on systems helping Starwood hotel brands beginning in 2014. The attackers remained in case study solution system after Marriott acquired Starwood in 2016 and were not found out until September 2018. The attackers were capable of take some mixture of contact counsel, passport number, Starwood Preferred Guest numbers, travel guidance, and other non-public suggestions. The credit card numbers and expiration dates of greater than 100 million customers were believed to be stolen, but Marriott is doubtful no matter if case study answer attackers were able to decrypt case study answer credit card numbers. The breach was ultimately attributed to a Chinese intelligence group attempting to collect data on US citizens, in line with a New York Times article.
